Photography, to me, is a way of freezing time — a quiet pause that lets us return to the emotions we felt in a single second. I’m drawn to candid laughter, unguarded tears, and the soft in-between moments that remind us of our shared humanity. There’s a peaceful rhythm in observing, empathizing, and creating space for people to simply be themselves while I document the beauty in their authenticity.
Hi, I’m Mina Jue — a 24-year-old photographer born and based in Chicago. For the past five years, I’ve captured moments in a variety of ways. I’ve come to love event photography and how a single photo can recall an entire night. I’m currently completing my third year at Columbia College Chicago, where I’m majoring in Creative Writing — an experience that continues to shape how I see and express the world around me.
Beyond the lens, my love for poetry complements my visual storytelling. I’m fascinated by how words, like images, can dance together — creating rhythm, emotion, and meaning through their arrangement. Whether I’m writing or photographing, I approach both with the same sense of curiosity, care, and playfulness, always seeking to find light in the details and connection in the moment.
